PlaySign is an ideal after school or holiday activity, run by a qualified play worker with CACDP Level 1 sign language accreditation.

Each course lasts for six weeks.

Over the 6 weeks the children will learn about sign language and who uses it, including the signs hearing people use in everyday life that are incorporated into sign language.

They progress from finger spelling the alphabet, to being able to meet and greet, ask questions, sign their name, age, and town where they live.

We'll also cover favourite colours, numbers, animals and be able to sign/sing simple songs.

Each one hour session is very much delivered as a play session, not a lesson, and the learning process is reinforced with many recognition games.

After learning each game the children take turns leading the game, this reinforces their productive signing skills at each level as the children respond to each other's signing.

The last session consists of all the games and songs we've learned and a certificate of completion for all.

It's fun and it's learning without lessons!
